The Advent Hope Congregation, then called the German New York SDA Church, completed
this substantial building in 1956. Jon was the first person to sweep the floor of the sanctuary itself
at the age of seven. He became church organist at age eleven, preached his first sermon that same year (1960) and was baptized in the church in March of 1962, at the age of twelve. So every
square foot of the building is full of history for him, and now has meaning for the whole family.
