now to open a second browser window. To that just click again on your desktop
the browser you normally use - Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer.
- Let's begin by having a Devotional - Read The worship entitled No
Time to Bother with Religion
http://dailywisdom.gospelcom.net/archives/2002/03/14/
- Answer this one question. (Why did Bonhoeffer argue that "if
persons claim to be persons of faith, there is no room for taking the easy way
out"? Why is this so in life and can you give some personal examples?
- Prayer - JJeffery
- Lesson Plan for Today
- Welcome to EDAL670 Online Class today.
- Today we begin by looking at Leadership and Technology
. What is a Leader? What are the primary qualities of a school leader
in the 21st Century? I would direct your attention to this paper . What is a
Leader? http://www.leadernetwork.org/leaderdef.htm
Take a few minutes to read this short paper. What is the main difference
between a leader and a manager?
- Let's read another view of what constitutes a Technology
Leader.
http://campustechnology.com/Articles/2008/07/How-to-Be-a-Super-Tech-Leader.aspx
- Let's look at what made MARY JO GORNEY-MORENO a technology
leader. What do you think of Secret #1? - Broaden Your Horizon
- Secret #2 - Communicate. Why is this so important?
- What is Secret #3? Be an Insider? What does this mean? Let's look
down the list of other secrets. (You might want to print out this article for
the online class)
- What does Passion have to do with Leadership?
- Now let's look at this next article, Leveraging Learning for
Generation I found here.
http://www.aasa.org/publications/saarticledetail.cfm?ItemNumber=3780
I will give you 5 minutes to read the article.
- I would then like you to react to this statement: "Once you
go to the Internet, you no longer are constrained by physical presence. The
Internet acts as a major enabler, linking people to anytime-anywhere learning
and as a catalyst to help revolutionize our educational system." Is this a
correct assessment?
- Now for the Final Collaborative Section School leaders say
that teachers need many professional development opportunities to learn
technology. In fact, adults have a much harder time learning computer skills
than children do. What are the best methods for teaching teachers about
technology? Please go this this site
http://www.electronic-school.com/0398f1.html
- Let's begin to ask these questions:
- What is the DIgital Divide?
- Why does this digital generation gap have serious consequences for
schools?
- Why does this digital generation gap have serious consequences for
students?
- The article says, "That's why, before attempting any technology
training, you must first get teachers excited about the prospect of using
computers" What are th ebst ways to get teacheres "turned on to
technology"?
- Finally: Technology training takes a great deal of time. For
adults, the learning curve for developing technology skills is like learning a
new language -- and it's a very unforgiving learning curve at that. Why is this
so?
Thanks very much again for entering into this method of class and
community building, . Hope that this class time was profitable...
